Procedure:

For a better understanding of the subject, please refer to "Rough running and its causes"
Service Information bulletin 36 01 95 (945) .
1.
Replace Michelin tyres made in Spain:
Check whether the affected tyres are fitted to the vehicle.
245/50 R18 with DOT 2602 to 4102:
Fit Michelin tyres with DOT greater than 4102.
2.
Balancing/matching wheels:
•
Drive until the tyres are warm (to reduce flat spots)
•
Immediately after the test drive, while the tyres are still warm, lift the vehicle to
relieve the load from the wheels.
•
Remove all 4 wheels from the vehicle.
•
Note:
Workshops equipped with a HUNTER wheel balancing machine (e.g. HUNTER
GSP 9700): continue with point 2.1.
•
Let the air out of the tyre and press the tyre off of the bead seat as described in
the Repair Instructions - do not remove the tyre from the wheel rim.
•
Apply a generous coating of tyre mounting paste to the tyre bead (inner and
outer) and to the wheel rim in the area of the bead seat.
•
Pump up the tyre as described in the Repair Instructions and have it "jump" onto
the wheel rim.
•
Balance the wheel as described in the Repair Instructions.
