Replacing one upper control arm

Note:

If the control arm is detached from the rear axle carrier, it is
necessary after reinstallation to carry out a wheel/chassis
alignment check.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

•

Version with air spring:

- 

Deactivate and empty air spring system

- 

Remove rear wheel

•

Version with coil spring:

- 

Remove brake caliper and tie back to body

- 

Remove rear pulse generator

- 

Support wheel carrier with workshop jack

- 

Remove shock absorber from swinging arm

Unfasten nut.

Installation:

Keep control arm to wheel carrier connection clean and free from
oil and grease.

Replace self-locking nut.

Tightening torque 33 32 8AZ

.

Open flaps (1) on line holder (2).

Unhook lines.

Release nut and remove plastic shim (3).
