Radio C53 MID (option 661): Distorted sound on CD reproduction from CD changer

Complaint:

With the BMW Business C53 MID (multi-information display) radio, the sound is distorted in
the treble and bass frequencies during CD reproduction via the CD changer. Distortions
only occur during high-volume sections.

Cause:

Faulty hardware in radio.

Affected
vehicles:

E39, E53 with BMW Business C53 MID radio (option 661) and with CD changer (option
672), without Top HiFi DSP (digital sound processor) (option 677) 
Manufacturing period: March 2001 to April 2001

Procedure:

In case of customer complaint, check whether the customer's description matches the
given fault pattern. If the fault can be verified, replace the radio.

Please refer to Repair Instructions "Removing and installing / replacing radio receiver",
RA 65 11 030.
