Caution!
Vehicles with tire pressure control (RDC):
Unwind operational RDC lead from wiring harness.
Replace faulty RDC lead separately (refer to Electronic Parts
Catalog).
Cut through wiring harness (1) approx. 10 cm before splash
shield and pull back from inside into footwell.
Detach cut wiring harness from engine compartment and remove.
General information:
Information on assigning the repair connectors are contained in
the DIS under the heading Component and signal information /
pin, fan and solder connectors / connectors from X1... / X18987 -
X18988.
Installation:
The cable ties and foam supports contained in the repair kit are for
securing the repair plugs.
Fit all cut leads of main wiring harness with stop parts. Pin in leads
in accordance with schematic in DIS.
Strip insulation from cable.
Crimp stop parts.
Connect precrimped leads to corresponding plugs (refer to
schematic). Cut off and insulate unpinned leads.
Installation/removal of multiple connector systems.
Replace cable ties that have been cut open.
