Replacing fuel filter (M57TU, M57T2, M47T2,
N47)
Necessary preliminary tasks:
•
Remove left underbody panelling
Recycling:
Catch and dispose of escaping fuel.
Observe country-specific waste-disposal regulations.
Release clamp (1).
Pull off hose.
Pull out retainer (2).
Detach fuel preheater (3) in direction of arrow.
Unscrew nuts.
Remove fuel filter (4).
Vent fuel system.
Turn on ignition for approx. 1 minute (venting takes place
automatically).
N47 only: Vent fuel system with BMW diagnosis tester.
