rocker finger, broken camshaft etc.). If the rocker fingers are broken, they should be
replaced and the oil circuit cleaned.
Important:
Search for and remove from the oil circuit all needles from older-version defective
rocker finger bearings. Do not forget the oil pump!
If the camshafts are broken, the cylinder head with the damaged attachments, both chains
and the chain wheel on the high-pressure pump must be replaced. In such cases, check
whether an exchange engine would be cost-neutral or even more cost efficient (for the
customer) that repairing the engine. The complete fuel system, including the tank must be
replaced. Only the rigid feed and return lines remain in the vehicle (rinse in the opposite
direction to the regular fuel flow). Finally, refuel the vehicle.
Important:
The customer's attention should be drawn to the fact that any other repair
measures than those described will forfeit warranty cover for any consequential
damage!
The elimination of damage caused from incorrect refuelling is not covered by
warranty!
If the customer insists on a repair other than those described, the vehicle data
should be transferred to BMW AG via PuMA!
