Page 3C1-19 of the 1983 Skyhawk, Skylark and Century Chassis Service Manual contains this notice:
"The car MUST NOT BE MOVED while the drive shaft is out of the hub-and-bearing, nor until the hub nut is installed to final torque."
Moving the car with vehicle weight on the front wheels and bearings with drive axle shaft or hub nut removed may cause stress to the bearing balls and
also damage the bearing race, resulting in a future bearing failure. This applies to the hub-and-bearing assemblies in all front-wheel-drive models,
including Riviera.
