DRIVE SHAFT INBOARD THERMOPLASTIC SEAL INSTALLATION

MODELS AFFECTED:

1985 CENTURY, SKYHAWK, SOMERSET REGAL AND ELECTRA

DRIVE SHAFT

The inboard thermoplastic drive shaft seal must be assembled to a specific dimension to prevent ballooning of the seal. Follow these steps when
assembling the seal:

1.

Crimp clamp at drive axle shaft (small end).

2..

Compress joint and seal to 130 mm (5-1/8"). See figure.

3.

Crimp clamp at joint end (large end).
