Suspension Spring ( Coil / Leaf ): Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

Tools Required: 
-

J 34013-B Strut Compressor 

-

J 34013-125 Strut Compressor Adapter 

-

J 35669 Strut Rod Nut Remover and Installer 

-

J 35668 Strut Extension Rod

Important:  The springs are under high tension. Do not remove the strut shaft nut without using the proper spring compressor tool.

1. Remove the strut from the vehicle. Refer to STRUT DISASSEMBLE/ASSEMBLE REPAIR.

2. Mount the strut in the J 34013-B and the J 34013-125.
3. Use the forcing screw to compress the spring just enough to release the tension from the strut mount (1).
4. Use the J 35669 to remove the strut shaft nut.
5. Relieve the spring tension.
6. Remove the spring.
7. Remove the strut components.
