AIR CONDITIONING MOAN NOISE OFF IDLE
MODELS AFFECTED: 1985 ELECTRA AND PARK AVENUE WITH 3.0L AND 3.8L MFI V-6 ENGINES
A moan type noise may be experienced on some early production cars off idle with the air conditioner compressor engaged. The noise disappears when
the air conditioning is turned off.
If this condition is diagnosed, replace the compressor clutch with the torque dampened clutch of kit #2724325. This kit also contains a new clutch dust
cover and attaching screws which must be installed.
