Diesel MFI Pump: Service and Repair
Housing Pressure Cold Advance & Shutdown Solenoid, Replace

1.
Remove pump cover.
2.
Remove terminal contact nuts, then remove solenoid from cover noting position of any insulating washers.
3.
Place solenoid in cover ensuring that shut-off solenoid linkage is free. Also, check that housing pressure cold advance solenoid plunger is centered
so that it will contact fitting check ball, Fig. 43.
4.
Place insulator washers on terminal studs and install terminal nuts. Torque nuts to 10-15 inch lbs. and replace pump cover.
