1.

Disconnect battery ground cable.

2.

Remove air cleaner and air crossover, Fig. 47, then install air screens.

3.

Disconnect injection pump fuel solenoid, housing pressure cold advance wires and fuel return pipe, Fig. 53.

4.

Scribe an alignment mark on vacuum regulator valve and pump body, then proceed as follows:

a. On 1982 models, remove throttle rod, vacuum regulator valve, return spring and detent cable.
b. On 1983-85 models, remove vacuum regulator valve, then disconnect throttle and T.V. cables and return springs.
