3. Notice:  Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Install the upper intermediate shaft pinch bolt.

Tighten the bolt to 48 Nm (35 ft. lbs.).

4. Install the intermediate shaft seal bolts.

Tighten the intermediate shaft seal bolts to 3 Nm (27 inch lbs.).

5. Connect the intermediate shaft seal to the steering column.

6. Important:  Rotate the lower seal in order to obtain proper shaft to seal clearance.

Connect the lower intermediate shaft seal to the steering gear.
