1. Remove the battery tray cover (1).
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

3. Remove the fuse assembly hold-down clips (1).
4. Disconnect the positive battery cable.

5. Remove the alternator lead cable (1) from the fuse assembly (2).
6. Pull the fuse assembly (2) up and back and place it out of the way of the surge tank work area.

7. Remove the battery hold down.
8. Remove the battery.
