Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (See: Wheels and Tires/Vehicle Lifting/Service and Repair).
2. Remove the front suspension strut yoke assembly from the vehicle. Refer to Front Suspension Strut Yoke Replacement (See: Suspension Strut /
Shock Absorber/Strut Mount/Service and Repair).
Note: The upper ball stud DOES NOT have to be removed from the yoke assembly to perform the following step.
3. Separate the steering knuckle upper ball stud from the steering knuckle. Refer to Steering Knuckle Upper Ball Stud Replacement (See: Steering
Knuckle Upper Ball Stud Replacement).
4. Loosen the kin pin bushing nuts (1) until they are even with the studs or two or three of threads of the king ping nut are exposed.
5. Using a hammer, hit the king pin nuts (1) until the king pin bushing is loose.
