Note
Removing the transmission control lever knob and boot is NOT required to perform the range selector adjustment clip inspection.
2. Remove the automatic transmission control indicator bezel. Refer to Automatic Transmission Control Indicator Bezel Replacement in SI.
3. Locate the range selector adjustment clip (1).
4. Determine if the range selector adjustment clip is fully engaged.
1. Visually inspect the adjustment clip for full engagement. Refer to illustration to view a fully engaged adjustment clip (A) or (B) disengaged
adjustment clip.
2. Ensure the adjustment clip (1) is fully engaged by running your finger along the top surface of the adjustment clip. The adjustment clip MUST
be flush with the range selector assembly.

If the adjustment clip is fully engaged, reinstall the automatic transmission control indicator bezel. Refer to Automatic Transmission
Control Indicator Bezel Replacement in SI. No further action is required after installing the indicator bezel.

If the adjustment clip is NOT fully engaged, proceed to Step 5.
5. Place the transmission control lever in (P) PARK.
6. Remove the transmission control lever knob and boot. Refer to Transmission Control Lever Boot Replacement in SI.
7. Using a finger or thumb, push the adjustment clip (1) downward until you hear a click noise. Ensure that the adjustment clip (1) is fully engaged by
running your finger along the top surface of the adjustment clip. The adjustment clip must be flush with the range selector assembly.
