SUBJECT: MEMORY SEAT (AG3) - LOSS OF POSITION - NEW SERVICE MOTOR
1985-90 PARK AVENUE/ULTRA MODELS
The memory seat may lose horizontal position on recall. Position loss is usually between 1/2 inch to 2 inches per recall. This may occur with the seat
empty or occupied.
Grease, used in the horizontal flexshaft cover to quiet audible noise, is leaking into the horizontal drive motor. This causes a distorted signal from the
motor to the memory module. The distorted signal causes the memory module to stop horizontal recall motion early.
Replace the outboard horizontal flexshaft and cover assembly, part number 20515599. This assembly must not be re-greased. The grease is not required
for lubrication. Replace the horizontal drive motor, part number 20560003.
NOTE: If the service cable assembly is not available, the original flexshaft and cover may be re-used if they are thoroughly degreased. Reusing the old
cover is not recommended as regular practice, since excessive horizontal operation noise may result.
Parts are currently available from GMSPO.
