WATER LEAK IN REAR COMPARTMENT (INSTALL NEW SEALS)

1992-93 BUICK LESABRE
Condition:
Some owners may experience a water leak in the rear compartment.
Cause:
Water trapped behind tail lamp drains into rear compartment when the rear compartment lid is raised.
Correction:
Remove old seals and replace both tail lamp seals with new lamp seals.
Removal:
1.
From inside of rear compartment, remove eight (8) caps on studs of tail lamp assembly, then remove eight (8) nuts. See Figure 1.
2.
Remove two (2) screws and brackets, one at each end of tail lamp.
3.
Remove two (2) screws at license plate pocket.
4.
Disconnect two (2) wiring harness connectors.
