If cause is consistent with description in Cause A, apply an adhesive foam patch (preferably with a smooth finish) to door module (Figure 1) to
create a slight pre-load on the rod, eliminating looseness, and to isolate the rod from the door module backplate.
Important:
Be sure to align foam pad on the edge of the hole, and the corner of the pad to the edge of the step in the backplate.
4.
Verify unrestricted rod movement and proper function.
5.
Install water deflector and door trim panel.
6.
Confirm proper lock function both electrically and manually.
Condition B
1.
Remove door trim panel and water deflector. Refer to Section 10-6 in the Service Manual.
