Headlamps/Parklamps Remain On when the Twilight Sentinel (T82) or Daytime Running Lamps (T61) are Enabled, the Ignition Switch is Turned Off
and the Vehicle is Not in Park

Some owners may comment that the headlamps/parklamps do not go out when the twilight sentinel is enabled and the ignition switch is turned "OFF"
before placing vehicle in "PARK". This is a normal function of the lamp control module and does not represent a failure with the module.
To verify that the lamp control module is operating properly. perform the following steps:
1.
Engage parking brake.
2.
Turn ignition switch to "RUN".
3.
Activate the twilight sentinel.
4.
Cover photocell.
5.
Verify that the headlamps/parklamps are on.
6.
With the engine running. place gear selector out of "PARK".
7.
Turn ignition switch to "OFF" (the headlamps/parklamps should still be on).
8.
Place vehicle in "PARK".
9.
Turn off the twilight sentinel.
The headlamps/parklamps should go out. If the headlamps/parklamps remain on, refer to the following bulletins:
