Do Not use a cleaner that contains methyl ethyl ketone, an extremely strong solvent, and not necessary for this type of deposit.

The throttle body metal parts may be cleaned following disassembly in a cold immersion-type cleaner such as GM X-55 or equivalent.

NOTICE: Since the Throttle Position (TP) sensor and Idle Air Control (IAC) valve are electronic devices, Do Not immerse them in any type of
cleaner.

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

1. Negative battery cable.
2. Air inlet duct.
3. IAC valve and TP sensor electrical connectors.
4. Throttle, and cruise control cables.
5. Accelerator cable bracket bolts and bracket.
6. Engine coolant pipe nut to gain access to throttle body attaching stud.
7. Throttle body retaining bolt / stud.
8. Throttle body assembly.
9. Flange gasket and discard.

NOTICE: Use care in cleaning old gasket material from machined aluminum surfaces as sharp tools may damage sealing surfaces.

Clean
Gasket surface on intake manifold.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

1. New flange gasket.
2. Throttle body assembly.
3. Throttle body retaining bolt / stud.

Tighten
Throttle body attaching bolt / stud to 25 Nm (18 lb. ft.).

4. Throttle and cruise control cables.

NOTICE:
Make sure throttle and cruise control linkage does not hold throttle open. 

5. IAC valve and TP sensor electrical connectors.
6. Air inlet duct.
7. Negative battery cable.

Inspect
With the engine "OFF," check to see that the accelerator pedal is free:

Depress pedal to the floor and release.
