Heater Hose Replacement - Inlet

HEATER HOSE REPLACEMENT - INLET

TOOLS REQUIRED

J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System (Static Fill) Draining and Filling Cooling System (Vac-N-Fill) in Cooling

System.

2. Remove the wiper motor module assembly. 
3. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the brake booster and reposition.
4. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. 
5. Disconnect the throttle and cruise control cables.

IMPORTANT:  Disconnect the throttle and cruise control cables from the TBI mounting bracket to prevent bending the cable housings.

6. Remove the transmission fluid filler tube. 

7. Disconnect the inlet heater hose (1) from the inlet heater pipe (2).

8. Disconnect the heater hose clamp using the J 38185.
9. Disconnect the inlet heater hose from the heater core.

10. Remove the inlet heater hose.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Install the inlet heater hose.

2. Connect the inlet heater hose to the heater core.
3. Connect the heater hose clamp using the J 38185.
