Brake Switch (Cruise Control): Testing and Inspection
Vacuum Brake Release Switch
An inoperative valve must be replaced. Ensure vacuum hose to switch is firmly connected and that it is not cracked or deteriorated. Vacuum source
and hoses should be checked for improper routing, leaks, kinks or restrictions.
With the brake pedal fully released, check if the vacuum switch will hold vacuum for 15 seconds. Applying the brake pedal should release the vacuum
within 1-1/16" to 1-5/16" of travel.
