Brake Caliper: Service and Repair
Rear Disc Brakes
Removal/Installation

REMOVE/INSTALLATION
1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Mark relationship of wheel to axle flange, then remove wheel and tire assembly.
3. Remove brake hose from caliper, Fig. 2. Plug openings in caliper and brake hose to prevent fluid loss and contamination.
4. Lift up on end of cable spring to free end of cable from lever, then disconnect parking brake cable from lever.
5. Remove bolt and washer attaching cable support bracket to caliper body assembly.
6. Remove sleeve bolt and caliper body assembly.
7. Reverse procedure to install noting the following:
a. Torque sleeve bolt to 20 ft. lbs.
b. Torque cable support bracket to 32 ft. lbs.
c. Bleed brakes.
