Spark Plugs
WARNING: It is important that technicians wash their hands after handling coated spark plugs and before smoking. The coating itself is a
nonhazardous material and incidental contact will not cause any adverse effects. However, exposure to polymer vapors, the result of
contamination of tobacco products and the subsequent burning of the polymer may result in flu-like symptoms and should be avoided.
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Make sure ignition key is "OFF."
2. Spark plug wires from plugs.

Note position of wires before removing.

Twist the boot 1/2 turn while removing.
3. Spark plugs from engine.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Spark plugs.

Gapped to 1.52 mm (0.060 in.).
Tighten
Spark Plug to 15 Nm (11 lb. ft.).
2. Plug wires to proper position, use position reference noted during removal procedure.
CAUTION: Aluminum heat shields are used over the spark plug boots on cylinders which are close to exhaust tubing. Care should be taken to ensure
these heat shields are fully seated.
