Chassis Fuel Feed / Return Pipes

Chassis Fuel Pipes

CAUTION:

-

When replacing fuel pipes, always replace them with original equipment or parts that meet the GM specifications for those parts. The replacement
pipes must have the same type of fittings as the original pipes to ensure the integrity of the connection.

Do Not use copper or aluminum tubing to replace steel tubing. Only tubing meeting the 124M specification or its equivalent is capable of meeting
all pressure and vibration characteristics necessary to ensure the durability standard required.

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

1. Relieve fuel system pressure.

2. Chassis fuel pipes quick-connect fittings and retainers in engine compartment.
3. Raise vehicle.
4. Chassis fuel feed pipe from outlet of in-line fuel filter.
5. Chassis fuel return quick-connect fitting near in-line fuel filter.
6. Brace from engine compartment to gain access to fuel pipes.
7. Retainers from body.
8. Desired fuel pipe to be replaced.

Note position of fuel pipe for installation.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

1. Position new fuel pipe or pipes into retainers as noted during removal.
2. Retainer to body.
3. Chassis return pipe quick-connect fitting.
4. Chassis fuel feed pipe to outlet side of in-line fuel filter.

Tighten
Fuel Filter Fitting to 30 Nm (22 lb. ft.).

5. Brace in engine compartment.
6. Lower vehicle.
7. Chassis fuel pipes quick-connect fittings in engine compartment.
8. Tighten fuel filler cap.
9. Negative battery cable.
