4. Pull back trunk liner.
5. Fuel sender access panel.
6. Quick-connect fittings at fuel sender assembly.
7. Electrical connector at fuel sender.
8. Fuel sender retaining ring with J 39765.

CAUTION:  When removing the modular fuel sender assembly from the fuel tank, the reservoir bucket on the fuel sender assembly is full of fuel.
It must be tipped slightly during removal to avoid damage to the float. Place remaining fuel into an approved container once fuel sender assembly
is removed from fuel tank.

9. Pull sender straight up and hold while pumping fuel from reservoir.

10. Fuel sender assembly.

NOTE:  The modular fuel sender assembly will spring up when locking ring is removed.

DISASSEMBLE

1. Note fuel sender strainer position for installation.
2. Support the reservoir with one hand and with a screwdriver pry the strainer ferrule off the reservoir. Discard strainer after inspection.
3. Rubber pad off bottom of modular fuel sender.
4. Electrical connectors from fuel pump and cover assembly.
5. Fuel level sensor assembly.

ASSEMBLE

1. Fuel level sensor assembly.
2. Electrical connectors to fuel pump and cover assembly.
3. Rubber pad.
4. Fuel sender strainer as noted during disassembly.

Inspect
Fuel sender assembly sealing surfaces.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

1. Fuel sender assembly with J 39765.
2. Quick-connect fittings to fuel sender assembly.
3. Fuel sender assembly electrical connector.
4. Negative battery cable.
5. Fuel sender access panel.
6. Reposition trunk liner.

INSPECT

Turn the ignition switch to "ON," position for two seconds, then turn to "OFF" for 10 seconds. Again turn to "ON" position, and check for fuel
leaks.
