Fig. 26 Air Compressor Head Tightening Sequence

Assembly

1.

Install gasket and mounting bracket, then the ground wire and screws.

2.

Install head gasket on cylinder assembly.

3.

Install O-ring on solenoid assembly, then the solenoid in the head with valve opposite air dryer outlet.

4.

Install two filters, exhaust valve and spring on head assembly.

5.

Install gasket and cover on head assembly, then four short cover screws.

6.

Install head and cover assembly to cylinder assembly using three long screws. Torque all seven screws in sequence, Fig. 26, to 36 inch lbs.

7.

Install air dryer O-ring on compressor.
