Drive Belt Tensioner: Service and Repair
With A/C
Generator, A/C Compressor Or Idler Pulley, & Tensioner Bracket
Remove or Disconnect
1. Negative battery cable.
2. Serpentine drive belt.
CAUTION: To avoid personal injury when rotating the serpentine belt tensioner, use a tight fitting 13 mm wrench that is at least 61 cm
(24") long.

This operation can be done using J 37059.
3. Generator assembly.
4. Oil filter.
5. Rear compressor bracket.
6. Raise vehicle.
7. Right splash shield.
8. Front. compressor mounting bolts and position compressor aside.
9. Chain housing to belt tensioner bracket brace.
10. Five (5) bracket to block retaining bolts.
11. Bracket out the wheel opening.
Install or Connect
1. Bracket and retaining bolts hand tight.
2. Tighten bolts to specifications.

Tighten bolts at location "A" first (illustration).
3. Chain housing to belt tensioner bracket brace.
4. Front compressor mounting bolts.
5. Right splash shield.
6. Lower vehicle.
7. Rear compressor bracket and bolts hand tight.
8. Tighten bolts to specification in sequence:
a. Bracket to block.
b. Bracket to compressor.
9. Oil filter.
10. Generator assembly.
11. Serpentine drive belt.
