Brake Caliper: Description and Operation

This caliper has a single bore and is mounted to the steering knuckle with two mounting bolts. Hydraulic pressure, created by applying the brake pedal, is
transmitted to the caliper through the brake lines. Hydraulic pressure in the caliper acts equally on both the caliper piston and the bottom of the caliper
bore, causing the piston to move outward and the caliper to move inward, resulting in a clamping action on the brake rotor. This forces the brake pad
linings against the rotor, creating friction to stop the vehicle.
