NOTE: Any time the camshaft housing to the cylinder head bolts are loosened or removed, the camshaft housing to the cylinder head gasket must be
replaced.
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the ignition coil and module assembly electrical connections.
3. Remove the ignition coil and module assembly to the camshaft housing bolts. Remove the assembly by pulling straight up. Use the spark plug
connector assembly remover in order to remove the connector assembly if it is stuck to the spark plugs. Use the tool by first twisting then pulling
up on the connector assembly.
4. Remove the camshaft position sensor connector.
5. Remove the power steering pump. see Steering and Suspension.
6. Disconnect the vacuum line from the fuel pressure regulator and the fuel injector harness connector.
7. Remove the fuel line retaining clamp from the bracket on top of the intake camshaft housing.
