Throttle Body: Service and Repair
Air Cleaner Resonator Installation
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
Notice: Numbers in text correspond to numbered components in image.
1. Remove the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the air cleaner resonator from throttle body.
3. Remove the electrical connectors from Idle Air Control (IAC) valve and Throttle Position (TP) sensor.
4. Remove the vacuum hoses at throttle body (3).
5. Remove the throttle, cruise, and transmission control cables.
6. Remove the accelerator cable bracket (2).
7. Remove the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor.
8. Remove the throttle body attaching bolts (1).
9. Loosen throttle body from manifold.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
Notice: The Evaporative Emissions (EVAP) System canister may have released carbon particles which may have caused this parts failure. Check
the EVAP canister for carbon before returning to the vehicle to service.
1. Install the throttle body (3).
2. Install the accelerator cable bracket (2).
3. Install the MAP sensor.
4. Install the throttle body attaching bolts (1). Tighten the throttle body attaching bolts to 6.5 Nm (58 lb. in.).
5. Install the throttle, cruise, and transmission control cables to throttle body.
6. Install the vacuum hoses to throttle body.
7. Install the electrical connectors to IAC valve and TP sensor.
8. Install the air cleaner resonator to throttle body.
