In commercial service (taxi or police use).
If the vehicle has been operated under these conditions, shut the engine off and allow the vehicle to cool for thirty (30) minutes. Then restart the
vehicle and continue from step two.
2. Park vehicle on level ground.
3. Move gear selector to "Park."
4. Apply parking brake and block wheels.
5. Let vehicle idle for three to five minutes with accessories off.
6. Pull out the dipstick and wipe with a clean rag.
7. Push the dipstick completely into the filler tube.
8. Wait three seconds and pull dipstick out.
9. Check both sides of dipstick and read the lower level. The oil level should be in the crosshatch "hot" area.
Important: The oil level is acceptable if it is anywhere within the crosshatch area. The oil level does not have to be at the top of the crosshatch
area. Do not acid oil unless the oil level is below the crosshatch area.
10. If the oil level is correct, push the dipstick completely into the filler tube.

Adding Transaxle Oil:

After properly performing the checking procedure above, add only enough oil to bring the level into the crosshatch area if the oil level is
low. It generally takes less than a pint. Do not overfill. Remember the oil level does not need to be at the top of the crosshatch area.

After adding oil, always recheck the oil level as described in the above procedure.
