Exhaust Manifold: Service and Repair

1.
Disconnect battery ground cable.
2.
Remove air cleaner assembly.
3.
Unfasten alternator upper mounting brackets and position aside.
4.
Disconnect oxygen sensor electrical connector.
5.
Raise and support vehicle.
6.
Disconnect exhaust pipe from exhaust manifold, then lower vehicle.
7.
Remove exhaust manifold attaching bolts, then the manifold and gasket.
8.
Reverse procedure to install. Torque attaching bolts in sequence, Fig. 5. Torque bolts 1, 2, 6 and 7 to 26 ft. lbs. and bolts 3, 4 and 5 to 37 ft. lbs.
