SERVICE - ROCKER ARM COVER GASKET FOR 2.8L (VIN CODES 7, X & Z) V-6 ENGINES
MODELS AFFECTED: 1980-1984 SKYLARK AND CENTURY
A new composition gasket, P/N 14089252, is available for service use on the above 2.8L V-6 engines.
This gasket replaces the RTV sealant and is to be used for repair of rocker arm cover oil leaks and general service work.
A small amount (dab) of GM sealer must be applied at the cylinder head - intake manifold split line prior to the gasket installation.
The rocker arm cover attaching bolts must be torqued to 8.5 to 10 N-m (75-90 in.lbs.).
