On vehicles equipped with column shift, remove the column shift lever boot using following procedure. See figure 2.
a.
Rotate ignition key to "RUN" position. B. Shift transaxle into
b.
Shift transaxle into "NEUTRAL".
c.
At 3 o'clock position of boot (see figure 2), gently slide the boot towards the shifter lever.
d.
Gently pull the boot assembly out of the covers and slide it upwards along the column shift lever. Shift transaxle to "PARK" position.
e.
Turn ignition key to "LOCK" position.
