Vacuum Brake Booster: Service and Repair
Power Booster
Remove or Disconnect
Important: It is not necessary to remove or disconnect master cylinder from the vehicle in order to remove the vacuum booster. However if both the
vacuum booster and master cylinder are to be removed, remove the master cylinder first.
1. Master cylinder attaching nuts (37).
2. Master cylinder (34) from the booster (35).

Move master cylinder forward just enough to clear studs on the vacuum booster. This will flex the brake pipe slightly, take car not to bend or
distort the brake pipes.
3. Vacuum hose from vacuum check valve.
4. Booster attaching nuts (36).
5. Booster pushrod (32) from brake pedal.

Tilt entire vacuum booster slightly to work booster push rod off pedal clevis pin without putting undue side pressure on the push rod.
6. Booster (35) from vehicle.
