WATER PUMP PULLEY REPLACEMENT
MODELS AFFECTED: 1985 SOMERSET REGAL WITH 2.5L ENGINE (ENGINE CODE U)
NOTE:
Additional Information for Buick Bulletin 85-6B-5 dated June, 1985.
Inspection of returned parts has indicated that some technicians may be using methods other than those specified in the service manuals to remove and
install water pump pulleys on the above engine.
Pulleys should be removed with tools J25034-B or J29785-A only and should be installed using tool J25033-B.
Use of an arbour press on the water pump will dislocate the pump shaft causing internal damage and seal leaks.
