CTS Sedan RWD V6-3.6L (2011)
REQUIRE 6 new propeller shaft coupler-to-differential flange bolts. All-wheel drive vehicles REQUIRE 3 new propeller shaft coupler-to-differential
flange bolts. Exhaust removal is NOT required on all-wheel drive vehicles.
All Wheel Drive Vehicles
1. Move the shift lever to the "N" NEUTRAL position.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in SI.
3. Locate the propeller shaft coupler/flange (2).
4. Remove the three propeller shaft coupler-to-differential flange bolts (1). Discard the bolts. Retain the washers and nuts (do NOT remove the
three propshaft-to-coupler bolts (3)).
5. Install three new coupler-to-differential flange bolts (1). Use the washers and nuts removed in Step 4. Tighten the bolts to 85 Nm(63 lb ft).
6. Lower the vehicle.
Rear Wheel Drive Vehicles
1. Move the shift lever to the "N" NEUTRAL position.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in SI.
3. Remove the exhaust system. Refer to Exhaust System Replacement in SI.
4. Locate the propeller shaft coupler/flange (2) at the transmission and differential.
5. Remove the three propeller shaft coupler-to-differential flange bolts (1). Discard the bolts. Retain the washers and nuts (do NOT remove the
three propshaft-to-coupler bolts (3)).
6. Install three new coupler-to-differential flange bolts (1). Use the washers and nuts removed in Step 5. Tighten the bolts to 85 Nm(63 lb ft).
7. Remove the three propeller shaft coupler-to-transmission flange bolts. Discard the bolts. Retain the washers and nuts (do NOT remove the three
propshaft-to-coupler bolts (3)).
8. Install three new coupler-to-transmission flange bolts (1). Use the washers and nuts removed in Step 7. Tighten the bolts to 85 Nm (63 lb ft).
9. Lower the vehicle.
