SERVICE PROCEDURE: (Figure 1)

1.

Remove the upper seat belt D-ring retaining bolt.

2.

Remove the passenger assist handle from the B-Pillar trim.

3.

Remove the B-pillar retaining screw and loosen the trim.

4.

Remove the rear carpet trim molding.

5.

Remove the front carpet trim molding.

6.

Remove the insert plug.

7.

Remove the lower seat belt anchor bolt.

8.

Disconnect the TR9 (courtesy lighting package) wire, if equipped.

9.

Remove the retractor assembly.

10.

Install the new seat belt retractor.

11.

Connect TR9 wire, if equipped.

12.

Install the retaining bolt-tighten to 53 N-m (39 ft.lbs.).

13.

Install the insert plug.

14.

Install the front carpet trim molding.

15.

Install the rear carpet trim molding.

16.

Install the B-pillar trim.

17.

Install the retaining screw-tighten to 53 N-m (39 ft.lbs.).

18.

Install the upper seat belt D-ring retaining bolt-tighten to 53 N-m (39 ft.lbs.).

19.

Install the passenger assist handle to the B-pillar trim.
