Avalanche 2500 4WD V8-8.1L VIN G (2003)
1. Apply lubricant GM P/N 12345501 (Canadian P/N 992704), or equivalent to the following components:

The camshaft lobes

The camshaft bearing journals
-
The camshaft bearings
Notice:
All camshaft journals are the same diameter. so care must be used in removing or installing the camshaft to avoid damage to the camshaft
bearings.
2. Install three 8 - 1.25 x 100 mm bolts into the camshaft threaded bolt holes.
3. Using the bolts as a handle, carefully install the camshaft.
4. Remove the bolts from the front of the camshaft.

5. Install the camshaft retainer and bolts.
Tighten the bolts to 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.).
6. Install the timing chain and sprocket.
7. Install the valve lifters.
8. Install the A/C condenser.
9. Install the grille.
