Camshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair

Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution (See: Starting and Charging/Battery/Service Precautions/Technician Safety Information/Battery
Disconnect Caution).

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the engine cover bolts and the nuts.
3. Remove the engine cover.

4. Disconnect the camshaft position (CMP) sensor electrical connector.
5. Remove the timing belt front cover. Refer to Timing Belt Replacement (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Timing Components/Timing

Belt/Service and Repair).
