Beretta L4-138 2.3L DOHC QUAD 4 (1991)
Turn Signal Switch: Service and Repair
1.
Disarm airbag as outlined in MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG DEACTIVATION. Failure to do so may result in accidental
deployment of airbag, possibly causing personal injury.
2.
Remove Steering wheel as outlined in STEERING WHEEL.
3.
Disconnect battery ground cable, remove coil assembly retaining clip, then coil assembly. Let coil assembly hang freely.
4.
Remove wave washer, then on standard columns remove spacer shaft lock.
5.
Attach tool J 23563-C or equivalent, compress shaft lock, then pry off retaining ring.
6.
Remove shaft lock, then turn signal canceling cam assembly.
7.
Remove upper bearing spring, then place turn signal to right turn position.
8.
Remove multifunction lever, then hazard knob assembly.
9.
On models with tilt and cruise control, remove signal switch arm assembly.
10.
On all models remove turn signal switch attaching screws, then turn signal switch.
11.
Reverse procedure to install noting the following:
a. After all work has been completed, rearm airbag as outlined in MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG ACTIVATION.
