Pulsair Valve: Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
1. Pulse air valve emits a hissing noise - the valve may be defective or improperly torqued.
-
Inspect valve and make necessary repairs.
2. Poor driveability - One or more valves failed, exhaust gas enters the carburetor through the air cleaner. (Also see #4 below)
-
Inspect valves and ensure that pulse air pipe extension tubes are installed in exhaust manifold.
3. Paint burned off rocker cover or deteriorated rubber grommets and hoses - Exhaust gases passing through the pulse air valve transmits
excessive heat to plenum.
-
Repair or replace parts as necessary.
4. Hose leading to air cleaner deteriorated - particles may enter carburetor and cause poor driveability.
-
Clean carburetor and remove particles from pulse air plenums and connecting pipes.
