About the C 1500 Suburban 2WD
This is the two-wheel-drive half-ton Suburban (C means two-wheel drive, K four-wheel drive). The Suburban, built since 1934, is the longest-running car nameplate in the world and the forerunner of the modern full-size SUV, combining a wagon body with pickup-truck mechanicals. GMC has sold it too, as the Yukon XL since 2000.
What these manuals cover
- 1995–1997: the 7.4-litre V8 and the 6.5 turbo diesel
- 2001–2002: the 4.8 and 5.3-litre V8s, including flex-fuel
Tip: GMC sold the same vehicle as the Suburban and, from 2000, the Yukon XL.
