Removal Procedure
Important: This shock absorber is a very high pressure gas charged component. Never attempt to tether or manually compress the shock.
Replacement shocks are supplied in the fully extended position.
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Support the rear axle.
3. Remove the upper shock absorber nut and the bolt.
4. Remove the lower shock absorber nut and the bolt.
5. Lower the rear axle to allow the removal of the shock absorber.
6. Remove the shock absorber.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the shock absorber.
2. Install the upper shock absorber nut and bolt.
3. Raise the rear axle to allow the installation of the lower through bolt.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
4. Install the lower shock absorber nut and bolt.
Tighten the nuts to 95 Nm (70 ft. lbs.).
5. Remove the support from the rear axle.
6. Remove the safety stands.
7. Lower the vehicle.
