WATER LEAK IN THE DOOR MODULE AREA

Some owners of 1988-1991 C/K trucks may comment on a water leak at the door module vent valve, at the door module, or between the door trim panel
and door onto the primary weatherstrip. The cause of the water leak may be that the door module does not provide a water tight environment.
To correct this condition, it is necessary to apply a sealer (P/N 12345739, sealer) between the door module panel and the air pressure relief valve (Figure
1), to install a redesigned foam seal (P/N 15697102) between the door and door module panel, and install water deflectors (P/N 15697103) to the door
module panel.
SERVICE PROCEDURE:
1.
Remove the door trim panel (refer to "Door Trim Panel Replacement" in the appropriate Service Manual) and water deflector.
2.
Remove the six rivets that secure the air pressure relief valve to the door module panel (Figure 1).
