Water Pump: Description and Operation
The cast pump is of the centrifugal vane impeller type. The impeller turns on a steel shaft that rotates in a permanently lubricated ball bearing.
The pump inlet is connected to the bottom of the radiator by means of a rubber hose. From the pump, coolant passes through the engine front cover into
the coolant passages in the block to absorb excess engine heat.
