C 2500 Truck 2WD V8-5.7L VIN R (1997)

Coat a new seal with a small amount of Transjel(R) J 36860 or equivalent.
1. New seal into the transmission case.
2. New filter into the case.
3. Transmission oil pan and a new gasket.
4. Oil pan bolts.

Tighten oil pan bolts to 11 Nm (97 inch lbs.).
5. New transmission oil.

Lower the vehicle.
6. Check the oil pan gasket for leaks.
