Air Filter Element: Service and Repair

AIR CLEANER ELEMENT REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1. Disconnect the mass air flow/intake air temperature (MAF/IAT) sensor harness connector.
2. Loosen the retaining screws (7) holding the air cleaner housing halves together.
3. Separate the housing halves and remove the air filter element.
4. Inspect the filter housing for debris and damage.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Install the air filter element into the lower air cleaner housing.

NOTE:  Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the upper housing cover (1) and screws (7).

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 4 N.m (35 lb in).

3. Reconnect the MAF/IAT sensor harness connector.
